i have a show i edited in audacity... come to find out it is too long to burn onto a standard 700mb cd. wah! other than dropping songs, do i have any options to get this thing onto one cd? i suppose there are no dual layer cds, as there dual layer dvds...

Basically you are limited by the CD Red Book specifications - which max at 700mb 80 minutes. As you allude to, DVDs ac hold more.
The only way you can create a CD with more music on is to creatye one with MP3 files - but not all CD players can play these - your PC will, your CD deck may, your car CD player probably will not (though a few now do - if they have MP3 support added for iPods etc.)
My CD burner (RecordNow that came with my DEll) will place a long show onto multiple CDs if needed - so that's another route you might explore.
