Also issues opening stored project

This is my first time using audacity and I tried to open the file that I recorded last night and when I do it says "couldn't find the project data folder: "first podcast_data."" This folder is on my desk top yet it says that it cannot find it. I try to drag all of the 491 individual clips into audacity and it obviously crashes from the overload. How can I open my file? Thanks!

<<<I tried to open the file that I recorded last night >>>

You tried to open the Audacity Project you created last night. Audacity does not Save sound files and Projects can have many different files and folders. Once you Save a Project, you can't move or change any of the Project files. Do you remember where the files were when you saved the Project? You have to put everything back where it was. If you changed any names or deleted anything, you have to put that back, too.

Next time you want to create a sound file from your show, Export As WAV. That will give you a very nice stand-alone sound file which can be moved and played with many different players.

That is definitely what happened. I moved the file into another folder and renamed it. So, what would the original file be named? Any idea what the standard naming would be so I can change it back? Thanks for your help.

NVM. I got it back. Thank you so much you just saved me a ton of time trying to recreate what was recorded. I owe you.

There is a joke here. Only the neatness freaks and compulsives have trouble with this. They're always cleaning up and organizing. We professional slobs leave things laying around all the time and this problem just never comes up for us.

Unintentional peek into your character.
