Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Sample Rates

I am trying to make one new recording using two different tracks. Both tracks are MP3 recordings, one recorded as Stereo, 44100 Hz, the other Stereo 22050 Hz.
I have edited both tracks (copied/pasted) into one new file, however the Stereo 22050 portion does not sound correct (much faster that it's original MP3 track.)
I am using Audacity 1.2.6. I have tried several scenarios - changing Sample Rates, etc. but cannot resolve the problem. Please help.

Don't paste into the same track - keep each on its own track. Audacity 1.2 does not support multiple sample rates in the same track (Audacity 1.3 does).

The two audio clips do not need to be in the same track. Simply use the "Time Shift Tool" (double headed arrow) to drag left/right so that one track follows on from the other, then Export. The Exported audio will mix all tracks into a single file.
