playback individual recordings

Post by shinnen » Fri Jul 10, 2009 11:06 pm

Hi,
At times I want to record more than one recording per session, but can't figure out how to play back the tracks individually. When I push play, they both play at the same time.
Thanks,
...... john

You can select the whole bottom song, copy and paste it to the end of the top song. Delete the bottom song.

If you Record-Pause the first show, you can pick up again with the beginning of the second show by taking it out of Record-Pause. Try this on a simple, non critical show to get used to the keystrokes.

Audacity 1.3 has a provision to stop the recording and then pick it up again.

You can also Solo or Mute each track with the Solo or Mute buttons to the left of each track. Mute is pretty easy, but Solo plays that one track and mutes everything else. Most big audio consoles have a set of both.

Thanks Koz,
The mute does what I want.
