green triangle pffft

Using Audacity 1.2.6 and Vista Ultimate. I am trying to use Audacity to transcribe audio files (.wav). I've selected a portion of the file and used Tempo to slow it down, but is there a way to move the green triangle forward and backward to start Play at different points? I tried clicking on the triangle and also in the blue wave area below, but it doesn't work. I should also mention that the recording has two voice tracks.

Is there a better way to use Audacity for transcription?
