Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

how to make 8bit videogame music with audacity?

Post by oldschoolspeedrunner » Thu Jun 25, 2009 6:41 pm

Hi I'm new to this and I'm trying to make 8bit music like in nintendo games. I have the magic 8bit plug but I'm not sure if it works with audacity. It show up in the generate menu but seems to just mute the track when i try and use it.

Is there any way of doing this? Any information would greatly appreciated.

Audacity is a terrible converter. I would probably produce all my music in a sane standard like 44100, 16-bit, Stereo and use an external converter like Super or Switch to produce the final.
