i am quite new to audacity, yet i have figured out the basics and have successfully used it to record simple tracks. overall i think it is a wonderful program with fun effects and an easy-to-use interface. the only problem i am having is getting rid of an irritating fuzzy clicking. it appears on just about every recording i make. i have turned off any timekeepers i could find, but i still cant seem to make it go away. has anyone else had this problem? if so, how did you get rid of it?

This sounds similar to a problem I'm having. There is an audible sound on the left side only. Also, the sound only appears when we use the sound card for mic or line in. This problem doesn't happen when using a digital program on the computer (such as a drum machine). During the silent parts of the recordings, we can see the sound levels show on the meter, as well as hear them. They mimic the pulsing/humming of our pc. So, I thought it was the computer. To check, I loaded the Audacity program onto our second pc and did a test recording. The same thing happens. Now we know it's not the computer. So, I'm assuming it's a gitch with the Audacity program. Hopefully someone has a solution. :)

It could be a problem with your sound card. If you are using a USB sound card try connecting to a different USB socket (on Desktop machines the rear USB sockets are often better than the front ones),

What and how are you connecting to the line/mic input? You may have a dodgy lead, or the thing that you are recording from may be producing noise on one channel.
