Mastering Freeware

I would like to know if there are any free programs out there that specialize in mastering mixed audio files. If you could give me a link that would be great.

No. The very best you can do is the Vocal Removal Tool which removes anything dead center of the stereo field. Since that's usually where vocals are, the singer will vanish. Usually.

That's it. Anything more specific than that is like separating the chocolate from a cupcake.

It depends on what you mean by 'Mastering'. I take that word to mean editing a bunch of tunes at once (compressing, limiting, EQing, fading in/out, etc) to make them sound like they belong together on a record.

Audacity can do that just fine if you have enough know-how. It takes lots of practice though, there is nothing intuitive about Mastering a record. There's a reason Mastering Engineers make a boat-load of money.
