audacity.exe has stopped working

When I try execute Audacity I message "AUDACITY.EXE has stopped working". As recently as 4 weeks ago it worked fine. Any thoughts? I deleted the program and downloaded it again and the same issue exists.

Try resetting the preferences by carefully following the instructions here: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php? ... o_defaults

The "safe solution" is the recommended method.
