Can't Open Project

Recorded an hour or so of audio for a DVD of old movies. When I hit End/Stop, I was given a message that a project file was not generated, but that .au files existed in a temp file. There are indeed about 800+ files in that temp file. How can I open them as a continuous sound track as I recorded them? Right now I can open each one and it plays fine, but only a few seconds. I really don't want to drag 800 files to my DVD. [email protected]

Thanks for pointing me to the Crash Recovery page. I shall try this very soon and let you know how I do.

The Recovery process worked perfectly. I used the automatic recovery tool, which reconnected the orphaned .au files into a single, usable .wav file. Perfect! Now I can complete my project. Thanks!! :D

Hooray and congratulations. Be warned however, it does not always work, so keep backups as you go - particularly any important once in a lifetime recordings. The best way to back up a recording is to Export it in WAV format. You can then make as many copies on as many disks / drives as you feel is necessary. Saving a project from time to time using "Save As" and choosing a new unique name will eat up a lot of drive space, but will provide a series of "restore point" backups for your project. If I am doing an important or complicated project I will save frequently using names like "project001", "project002", "project003"....
