Audacity can't find lame library

Post by redtailfan » Wed Jun 10, 2009 9:17 pm

I have installed 1.2.6 and the lame library for audacity. In preferences for audacity, i browse to the location of the lame encoder.dll. I choose it, but audacity does not recognize it, hence I can't export mp3's. I am in a school district and this is not working on my Dell Optiplex gx620's. I did get it to work with the virtual PC on my mac, but I need to figure out why it won't find the library on these 620's as I have a whole lab of them we want to enable with audacity.

I have tried to remove Compuguard, which was on the machine. I have not removed Sophos antivirus, as it was on the virtual PC.

Has anyone had this problem with Audacity and the lame library? I have tried 1.3.7 as well with the same result. Audacity simply won't acknowledge that the lame library is there and use it.
