I want to record a live audio stream while I play a game but if I do those two simultaneously I also record some of the sounds in my game so I would like to know if it's possible to record something while listening to something else.

Theory says yes because record and playback are different panels on a Windows machine, however...
<<<I want to record a live audio stream>>>
That will kill you because that already uses up two of the two channels you have.

Record on your computer and play on your X-Box/PS3/a pack of cards/cricket.
You may be able to stream through WinAmp direct to disk and still play a game, but I've never tried it. Also, people often have enough trouble getting recording to run smoothly with no other programs running - playing a game with sound on at the same time is asking for trouble,
