Failed installation

Post by cmb5 » Wed Oct 17, 2007 4:29 am

Everytime i download audacity (regardless of what version it is, or what server its from) after i finish installing it, i launch it and an error pops up saying a problem caused this program to close, windows will search for a solution, and gives me the option of then closing the program. No matter what it happens everytime I've reinstalled it countless times to no avail. What is going on? P.S. i have windows vista.

I looked over the wiki stuff previously and the compatibility isnt in 95 and i tried doing the driver stuff and nothing has worked thus far. Is there anything similar to audacity that wont crash every time i can download?

You can try using Audacity 1.3.3. That seems to have worked for someone else. The two versions can be installed at the same time (they won't mess with each other).

I don't know of any other freeware like Audacity.
