recording from usb turntable

I am not having any success recording from a usb turntable.The sound recording is missing small pieces of music making it miss beats in the playback.Anyone help on this please?
You might have a hard drive that's too full and/or fragmented.
You might have a program running in the background that accesses your hard drive while it's trying to record (Virus Checkers are the worst).
You might have a processor or Operating System that's too sluggish to keep up.
You might have a bad USB port. This seems unlikely, but it happens.
You might also have a bad turntable.
You didn't tell us anything about your machine or setup, so we can't really help you any more than that.
