I've installed version 1.2.6 and use XP Home. Contrary to some earlier posts, the dropdown selector does appear on the Toolbar, but it is "grayed out" and is, therefore, not accessable to select line-in.
Would appreciate help from Audacity staff or any user with insights to this problem.

Re: Mixer Toolbar input selector
As it says in many of the other posts on this subject, the likely cause is that your sound card driver does not want to play nicely with Audacity.
Audacity 1.3.7 may fix the problem. If not then you will need to use the Windows Mixer or your sound card control panel for selecting the recording input.
