There is a tutorial in Wikipedia concerning how to import from iTunes into Audacity:
http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php? ... rom_iTunes
I didn't think this was possible? At least, every time I've tried it imports it as some unrecognizable audio. Any tips?

Are you trying to import copy-protected music? If so, which of the tutorial's methods are you trying to use? --Allen

Re: Importing from iTunes
Well, even if I"m downloaded songs from a disc into iTunes, it won't let let me then load them into Audacity. So I guess it's putting them in a format which is not Audacity-friendly (?)

Re: Importing from iTunes
For Audacity version 1.2, the tutorial you linked to describes how to convert songs to WAV from within iTunes, and then open the WAV file in Audacity. Is that how you're trying to do it? Where exactly do you run into trouble? --Allen

Re: Importing from iTunes
Unless you changed it, iTunes changes all incoming music into Apple AAC format which is efficient and iPod friendly, but isn't compatible with anything.
You can change that. iTunes Preferences > Import Settings > WAV or AIFF Auto. Either of those should drop right into Audacity or any other audio program. My preference is WAV because that's acceptable on all three computer types.

It worked! I got it! I"m excited. And here all this time my co-workers convinced me that I "had" to burn it to disc.
