I'm having a little trouble reading the pink words, so could you use black for a while? PlzKThnx.

I would use a very simple sound or song until you get the hang of how to set the numbers. I posted a simple piano trill that I use for sound tests. It's at the bottom of this page.

I didn't like the default numbers in the echo tool. I had much better results like this:

Select All, Effect, Echo.

Change the first number from 1.000 to .25 (one second to 1/4 second). Then try it again later at .15

The first number represents the size of the room. 1.000 is a really large room like an auditorium. One quarter second is more like a tiny lecture hall. Lower than one tenth second is a large living room.

The second number is the liveness or amount of drapes, carpet, and furniture. Increase the number to take the carpet out little at a time.

The echo effect doesn't work as well as a Delay effect would since you can't enter the number of echoes you want (just like in real life).

I recommend downloading the LADSPA effects pack:
http://audacityteam.org/download/plugins

There is a Delay effect in there that is much more straightforward to use.
