Recording sound coming out of your speakers.

Post by flapjack47 » Mon May 25, 2009 1:23 pm

I was looking through some of the tutorials, can't figure this out:
" Provided your audio drivers are written correctly and the operating system mixer is making the input available, you should be able to select a Recording Source called "Stereo Mix", "What U Hear", "Mix", "Loopback", "Sum" or something similar"

Well, I don't have the options under Recording Devices. Is their any way to record sound coming out of your speakers without having to use other software (Ask and Record Toolbar, etc...)?

<<<Well, I don't have the options under Recording Devices. >>>

The latest machines also have an additional selection that gets you to "obsolete" drivers and services. I think it's "Show Disabled Devices." Mix Out is usually one of those selections.

Windows Control Panel

Page down once.

If you don't have that, then you're one of the lucky devils that bought a computer where the supplier permanently disabled that feature.

<<<Ask and Record Toolbar, etc...>>>

I didn't know about those. I use Total Recorder for my PCs. It's a full featured capture system that has a scheduler.

Yes, thank you. I already have "Show Disabled Devices" checked and nothing appears. Also, I've been watching tutorials about Audacity on YouTube and some folks have the drop down menu that has the "What U Hear" option. How come I don't see that on my Audacity? I have both versions too.....
