Hardware Playthrough Help with a PC

Post by Rick » Sun May 24, 2009 8:34 pm

I'm fairly new with audacity, and am trying to listen to what I'm recording without having a delay. Software play through does not work because my cpu isn't that quickest as well as the fact my sound card isn't great. I am aware hardware play through is only available for macs, but the audacity help says that:

"Windows and Linux users can enable this using your operating system's Mixer, by simply turning up the level for the input you are using and unmuting it."

I was wondering if anyone has done this or can explain to me how to enable it as I'm not really sure, appreciate the help!
