I can't locate the plugins folder on Audacity. I'm on Windows XP. Sure I can find and open the programme but where is the "plugins" folder? If I right click on the Audacity file a list of options opens i.e.: run as, add to archive, add to audacity rar,compress and email,etc. but no mention of "plugins folder" !What am I doing wrong ? Help would be much appreciated.

Open "My Computer" and navigate to the "Program Files" folder (you may need to be logged in as an Administrator to open the Programs folder. Locate the "Audacity" folder, and the "Plug-ins" folder is inside it.

Thanks Steve. However still can't find it ! What's this stuff about being logged in as an administrator ?

Are you able to open the "Program Files" folder? Can you see the Audacity folder in there?

Hi Steve. Yes ,as I said, I can See the Audacity file and open and use it. However I want to add a" plugin" and therefore need to open the "plugins folder". If I left click on the folder it obviously opens Audacity for use and if I right click then a list of options opens (as I said before) which does NOT include a "plugins folder" Thank you for your patience.

No, not the Audacity file, the Audacity folder.
C:Program FilesAudacity

If you open "My Computer" you should see several yellow folder. One is called "Program Files". Double Click on the "Program Files" folder and you should see a load more yellow folders - one will be called "Audacity" (or Audacity-something). Double click on the Audacity folder and it should show several more yellow folders inside it - one of these is called "Plug-ins".

Hi Steve. Got it ! I was obviously mistaking files and folders. The location is: Start- My Computer- Local Disk "C"- Program Files -Audacity.
Please forgive my ignorance and once again many thanks for your kind help and patience.

Again I have problem in running audacity it says error 5 access denied is message
Actually the input window doesnot open and recording audio not possible
As I cannot remain without audacity pl helpme asap
i use 1.2.6 for windows xp

Try installing 1.3.7 and see if that works any better.
