No sound in windows mediaplayer

After installing Audacity I have no sound in Windows Mediaplayer what am I doing wrong?

Do you have a USB audio device plugged in (for example a USB turntable)?
If so, then Windows has set the default audio device to be the USB device.

You have then 2 options:
1) Unplug the USB device (may require reboot)
2) Go into the Windows control panel and in the Sounds and Audio devices section, set the default playback device to your sound card (better solution).
