WHAT YOU HEAR

Hi, The older version had "What You Hear" ....What is the setting to capture audio directly from my lap top into audacity? All I get is a microphone recording....

Some newer Windows machines make this very difficult and some machines need to add software to do it. Macs always have to add software that establishes the sound pathways. Some Win7 machines need that as well.

"What U Hear" was the term used by Creative Labs for their SoundBlaster cards.
It means the same as "Stereo Mix" (the term used by most other sound card manufacturers) for recording whatever is playing through the sound card.

This feature is dependent on the sound card and the sound card drivers.
