Exporting all audio files to the same volume

Post by tide88 » Fri May 01, 2009 7:11 pm

I have 40 audio files that I would like to export/save/convert to the same ouput volume. Is there anyway to do this with a bulk function?

Thanks in advance for your insights.

That's hard to do without a bulk function.

How critical is it that the quality of each performance stays exactly the same?

I love Chris's Compressor for evening out volume variations not only song to song, but within the song, too. However, it does change the character of each song (I use it for spoken word stuff and it's terrific for that).

If we are forbidden from doing anything to each song past changing the volume, then we can't do that, ever.

You may have some success with Normalize or Amplify, but both of those work on waveform peaks and ignore loudness.
