Post by jamskarl » Wed Aug 08, 2007 4:56 am

help! i'm editing on a tight deadline and can't get 'noise removal' to work. i highlight a small section of noise, click 'get profile,' then highlight the whole section to remove noise from, and reopen 'noise removal' -- and the 'ok' button WILL NOT highlight (allowing me to click 'ok' and execute the removal.

help?!

Hi

You've posted to the Audacity 1.2.x Forum but are you actually
using Audacity 1.3.3? Noise Removal in 1.2.x doesn't have an OK button, but a Remove Noise button. Could you look at Help > About Audacity or Audacity > About Audacity in the program and tell us which version it says? And you could you tell us your operating system e.g. is it Windows XP or OS X 10.3 on a Power PC, or OS X 10.4 on an Intel Mac? We need all this information to try and find and fix any faults. If you are using Audacity 1.3.x, try 1.2.6 instead (or 1.2.5 if you are on an Intel Mac):

All that and have you ever used the Noise Removal tool before? Most noise removal tools, this one included, can make a slightly ratty show sound a little better. If you have a basket case show, then you will likely only get a little less basket.
