I just started working on audacity.....I have imported a song, but it is not playing back....what am I doing wrong?

We'll need more information to help you. What operating system are you using? What format is the song in that you're trying to import? Do you see waveforms on your screen after import? When you hit play, does the cursor start moving across the screen but no sound is produced, or does the cursor not even move? Can you play the song with other software? If you record something from within Audacity and try to play that back, does it work? --Allen

Do you happen to remember where you got the song from? iTunes songs will not play in Audacity and they have Copy Protection on them.
