Input selection

I've just loaded Audacity 1.2 on my new laptop. For whatever reason it doesn't show any in put selections. On my desktop, I have several available(stereo mixer, cd audio, line in, etc) Any ideas?

My idea is that it would help us to know the operating system and version you're using.
