How to have cursor move to stop position

Hi,

I'm used in my video editor to having the cursor move to the point I stop playback.

Can I do that in Audacity with some kind of keystroke?

When I hit spacebar to stop the cursor does not move.

Basically, I like to listen to the playback and split the track at the point I stop it playing. What's the easiest way to do that?

Cheers.

You might be able to go into Audacity, Preferences, Keyboard and assign new functions to the keys.

There are quite a few things that Audacity does that drives video editors nuts. Are you missing the "I" and the "O" keys yet?

While the clip is playing you can set a marker at the current point by pressing [ctrl]+m. That might help a bit.

The fact that the this keyboard shortcut is different from setting a marker while it's stopped ([ctrl]+b) is completely bizarre to me.
