Cannot select menus.. At all.

Just downloaded audacity, and i'm doing a little bit of playing around with it, however, about 5 or 10 minutes into any project (no, I'm not attributing this problem to time spent on a project) every menu item becomes "unselectable" - they all turn grey (I'm on a PC, latest stable version of Audacity). When this happens, I can't delete tracks, copy, paste, anything. Help!

Are you connected to the internet by high-speed? When was the last time you updated your virus protection? Do you have virus protection? Do you have viruses?

Sudden, unexplained insanity on a PC should immediately trigger you to consider somebody using your machine in addition to you.
