I have sample rate and audio I/O settings correct, but cannot get files to play
via firewire to my d/a converter (CoreAudio) The built-in speaker connection
works, but not the digital output. Is CoreAudio not supported in Audacity?

It looks like this is a Mac-only piece of hardware, so I can only offer you limited help.
I guess the first thing to do is check and see if your problem is described here:

I'd help more if I could, but I can't. You might get better help in the Mac-specific forum.

I'm not quite sure what this means, but if you can get speakers plugged into your D/A to make sound, then you've definitely got audio info going through the FireWire connection. Which suggests that your D/A isn't working as you expect it to.audiofixer wrote:The built-in speaker connection works, but not the digital output.

Re: No audio output via firewire to MetricHalo ULN2 converte
Note, the converter meter shows no signal, so there is NO signal going thru the firewire. This converter works fine with all other audio applications. Could this be a problem involving CoreAudio? Other users have had similar problems getting audio to play, and I find no answer. (The Audio MIDO settings are correct, and do not change arbitrarily when I launch Audacity.)
And, please tell me, where is the "Mac-specific" forum?

I don't really know what the problem is. But I can tell you that the Mac Specific forum is not far from here. We're in the Audacity Stable -> General forum. You want the Audacity Stable -> General -> Mac forum.
I realize that might be confusing, but I don't know how else to tell you how to get to a specific forum.
