I am new to podcasting, just created my first one. How do I place the file on my site? Is there usually some icon that my site visitors would click on leading them to a download link?
How does whole thing work?
Thanks....in advance!

<<<How do I place the file on my site?>>>
It's usually in two steps. Assuming you have a web site or server or hosting company, they will usually have a simple package for placing stuff up there. If not, it's pretty simple to do. If you're a heavy techie, you can open a terminal on almost any computer and use File Transfer Protocol (FTP). If not, there are a number of file managing programs out there depending on which kind of computer you have. Fetch or FileZilla on Mac, FileZilla or WinFTP for the PC people.
If you dig in your instructions, you are going to find things like "ftp username" and "ftp password." They will probably be different passwords from other services offered by the same company.
Part two is a little harder. You have to make it available for download. That's usually buried inside the web site authoring tools that your hosting company gave you. You have to list your show file in a web page so everyone can see it and download it.
This is a stupid-simple version of what you need...

If you click on one of those sound files, they will play and you can download them if you want. View > Page Source to see how to write that page. It's all by hand which is why it's not very fancy. It's also not the very latest web HTML writing, either, but it works. This is usually all tools that they give you when you signed up.
Are you posting an MP3 file of your show?
