Wish to divide the various albums that are recorded via Audacity. When I select the Project menu, and then Add Label at Selection, I am able to type in the Label for the first track, the text is shown. When I go to repeat for the next track, the first one is being overwritten and appears lost. Repeated attempts on different albums, get the same results. What am I doing wrong? Please advise.

I'm using Version 1.2.6 in Windows XP SP2.

amretired2,

Audacity 1.3.3 handles labels better than earlier versions, you will probably have better luck using that version.

I'm not sure what you're doing wrong. For me, it's a matter of click on the track, pressing [ctrl]+b (add label), typing in a label, then repeating.

Perhaps you aren't clicking on the new label to move the cursor there? Be aware that Audacity doesn't display a cursor like it should, 1.3.3 is better about that, but it's still a little confusing.
