I imported an mp3 file. Edited the tag, and exported. The file size increased by half, from 21 MB to 33.6 MB.
(File/Open-select a 13.2 MB mp3. After loading…Progect/Edit ID3 Tags, changes/Export as MP3.)
Saved as 35.4 MB file.
I noticed the file also went from 48bps to 128 bps. Is that something I might have control over? How?
Bit Rate adjust
Re: Bit Rate adjust
Got it. Edit/Preferences/File Format.
Sorry to trouble you.
I'm a thick headed old man, that would rather ask than look.

If you only wish to change the tags, dont use Audacity.nelsh wrote:I imported an mp3 file. Edited the tag, and exported.
RightClick -> Properties in Windows XP do this for you.
(They perhaps move the tags from the start of the file to the end,
and add lot of zeroes to the file.)
There are tools to manipulate Exif information for pictures,
and there thould be tools to change tags, too.
