a challange how to filter this sound the best way

Post by pompado » Wed Sep 29, 2010 12:17 pm

Hello at the link blow you have a post about the sound from a roulette ball.
Obvios the sound has it own signature or should we call it pattern.

http://www.survtech.com.au/acoustic/aco ... nature.htm

They did reduce the sourounding noice and islolate the sound from the ball with a music software of some kind.

I save bouth files from this site and would like to filtering the original sound file 1 to get more clear then there results with sound file 2 using Audacity :-)

I would like to have more clear peacks of the high frequense sound from the ball and remove the sourounding noice and get better grhapical shart then they post with high peaks and low peaks using Audacity.

Do some one have a suggestion - i experement a littel with different filters - but i assume there are expersts here that could help me learn more about it - what filters to use and what charts to get visual wish give a good calibrated picture of the sound.

Many thanks

Use Audacity 1.3.12 http://audacityteam.org/download/

First convert it to mono my clicking on the name of the track and select "Split to mono".
Delete the silent track.

Apply a "High-pass filter" with the frequency set to 1000 Hz and the "Roll off" set to 48.

Repeat the High-pass filter about 10 times and you will get something similar to their result.
