I am new to Audacity and only used it a couple of times. I recorded a live show and I have alot of distortion in the recording. I turned the mic volume almost all the way down and it is still distorting. I am recording the the record out the sound board.
I tried recording through the headphones jack on the sound board but it is not a great recording. It sounds better running it the the record out but it is distorting.
When I record through the headphone jack the wave lengths are short and it does not distort. But when I record through the record out the wave lengths are very high and they are peaking off the meter.
What can I do to stop it from distorting?

Re: Distorting when recording live show
Do you mean that you record with a microphone in Mic-in. (live music)
Because if you mean a live show on your PC you should use StereoMix
