Telephone Pod Cast Interviews

Post by heinco » Mon Jan 25, 2010 4:37 pm

Greetings!
Please comment on any digital devices that provide a quality telephone recording of a voice interviewee for pod cast purposes.
Several quality quests are out of my location and have consented to be interviewed by telephone.
I would really appreciate your suggestions.

Thank you
Paul

There is no easy, high quality, cheap way of getting a standard copper line telephone into a recording. However, you can use the Pamela Professional or Business software package with Skype to do this job very well. Both of those packages will put your voice on one track and the talent's voice on another. This allows you to apply filters and volume compensation to one voice without the other to produce a clear, well-balanced show. All other techniques of capturing phone conversations only capture one side and/or dump both voices onto one track where it's impossible to separate them.

There's one other software package that will do this. I need to look.

I think Total Recorder for Windows can do this, too.

I simply want to say "Thank You" again. I'm looking at Total Recorder for Windows in detail. it looks like the needed solution.
Thank you!
