Cutom Metadata Template

Is it possible to create a custom metadata template in Audacity? We are editing 250 oral history audio clips, and need to have different fields of info included in the metadata. We have volunteers doing this work, and we'd like to save them time, if possible, by having the tag fields pre-determined. Thanks!

Does Audacity 1.2 use MetaData? I thought that came in with Audacity 1.3.

In Audacity 1.3.11 (available here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php? ... tly_Builds ) you can open the MetaData Editor from the File menu and enter the data that is common to all of the files.
"Template > Save" will save that data to an XML file.

The XML file can be distributed to your volunteers.
They can then use "Template > Load" and select the template file.

An alternative option would be to use a program that is specifically designed for bulk tagging (such as the Linux program "EasyTag").

Thanks your help! Yes, we're using the 1.3 Beta version. I've tried creating/saving the template before but it doesn't show up in the folder. Will try again.
