audacity will only record from mic.

hi. i just downloaded audacity 1.3 on my computer. i had recently used it and remember putting the recording in stereo mode so i can record songs off youtube. problem is that its only recording from the mic, so its really low quality. myquestion is how do i make it record from streaming audio and turn off the microphone mode. thanks for looking.

It would have been good to post this on one of the forums further up so we don't have to start asking you questions like:

What kind and age computer have you got?

Operating System and version?

The long Audacity version number?

Easiest way with Windows and a Sound Blaster card is to select "What You Hear" or "Wave" as the recording source.
Other sound-cards may have something similar.
Macs don't have this, so you'd need to find a work-around.
