Basic Recording Question

Hello everyone, I apologize for asking such a fundamental question but I am new to Audacity, and seem to be having issues with getting what I want. I would like to record an audio file playing directly from my computer. How do I do this without also having noise outside of what's being played through my speakers? Thank you!
