Hi:
I've selected a brief classical segment and would like to get it from Itunes to audacity to use a portion for an intro to then fade out at the beginning and fade in at the end of the pod cast. Please direct me to a procedure for getting the mp3 onto audacity.

If you're using Audacity 1.2.x, the command is "Project > Import Audio".

If you're using Audacity 1.3.x, the command is "File > Import > Audio".

Help!!!!
I have a music intro and have a voice content. We want to have a music intro that fades, which we've mastered.
I'm missing something. How do I simply put a music intro before the voice interview content?
Also, music at the end that fades after the voice content.

Note that this applies to 1.3.x. What version of Audacity are you using? It will make a difference as to what features are available.

You can't do that in 1.2.6. You'll need separate tracks for the music intro, voice bit, and music extro. You can slide each track left and right to line up where you want, but you can't have separate clips on each track. It's actually more flexible that way, as you can have the voice begin just slightly before the music fades out, and have the extro music begin to fade up during the end of the voice segment.

When you finally export the project, Audacity will mix everything down into one MP3 (or AIF - whatever you choose) file exactly the way you hear it when you play it back.

You might want to look into installing 1.3.9. You can have both versions on your machine without conflicts, you just can't use both at once. And 1.3.9 projects can't be opened in 1.2.6.
