When I have a blank audio track, I want to be able to select it, hit record, and be recording IN THAT TRACK.
It annoys me to no end that every time I hit the record button, it creates a new track.
Please tell me there is a way to make that not happen. if not, I'll probably never use audacity again based solely on that fact.
I'm using Mac Audacity 1.2.6
Thank you,
Ryan

Upgrade to Audacity 1.3.x
"Shift + R" > Append Record - it continues recording from the end of the current track.
"Shift + R" > Append Record - it continues recording from the end of the current track.

The only option in Audacity 1.2 is to press Pause instead of Stop during a recording. Then you can un-pause it and continue on.
You can have 1.2 and 1.3 on your machine as long as you only use one at a time. Audacity 1.3 Projects will not open in 1.2
