Key Command L

Post by tonerstation » Thu Jul 09, 2009 2:50 pm

have had to force quit 3 times today from typing the letter L when saving a file.

the loop function kicks in.. when both saving a file and exporting the file.. is there a way around this?

also the mailing list seems to be either really slow or just not working..

Are you using Audacity 1.2 on an Intel Mac with Leopard OS-X 10.5?

Stop doing that.

There is no stable Audacity 1.2 for us. Trash the program and install Audaciy 1.3. There are no new patches for Audacity 1.2. If it doesn't work for you, then there are very few repair options.

Or the people who support it live around the world.....

In the earlier Macs, sometimes you could restore sanity by trashing your preference file(s).

Audacity 1.3 isn't the buggy mess it started out being. I'm doing all my MacBook Pro production in 1.3.7 and I know many of the forum regulars are in 1.3. Audacity 1.2 was designed during the Eisenhower administration and its tools are very simple and many times just not up to the job. Good Quality noise removal in 1.3 is almost unrecognizable compared to the poor simple one in 1.2.

You can have 1.2 and 1.3 on your machine as long as you only use one at a time. 1.3 projects will not open in 1.2.

thanks Koz, have installed the new 1.3.7 version and clean deleted 1.2.6 - i bet this is the solution.
will continue working on the files in 1.3.7 and ask questions if anything unexpected happens though i bet it will be fine
and was problematic because i had upgraded from OS-X. 4 to OS-X . 5 just a few months ago..
thanks for the quick reply..
