I am currently copying a number of LP records to computer and then CD using a USB turntable and Audacity 1.2.6. program.
However, while the music is copying beautifully, there are no breaks between tracks as you find on a CD. The music is one long track on the disc.
I have tried to find some way of putting the music down as individual tracks which can be selected as wanted at a later date but cannot see anything in the instructions which might solve the problem.
Can someone point me in the right direction please.

Re: Separate tracks when recording
All you need to do is to place a label at each track break - use the Ctrl-B shortcut - and don't forget to place a label right at the beginning for the first track.
Then use Audacity's Export Multiple command (available from the File drop-down) to export a multiple set of WAVs, MP3s or whatever.
The Audacity Wiki, Documentation and Tutorials have much useful information on how to do this - a recommended read - http://audacityteam.org/help/

Also known as putting a label at the beginning of each song. Audacity doesn't support Markers or Edit Points -- at least not directly.
