Adding vocals with Audacity?

Post by Ginhoi » Mon Jun 22, 2009 3:21 am

Hey everyone,

I'm brand new here, so please don't scold me if this isn't the right place to post this topic:

Is it possible to add only the vocals from one song into another using Audacity? There are about a million and one tutorials on removing vocals from songs, but none I found on adding vocals.

Can anybody school me on this? :D

PS - If not Audacity, is there another program which does this? As always...FREE is good!

It's not a special instruction because compared to separating the original vocal, it's a piece of cake.

Take the separated vocal and paste it into an additional track underneath the music. Project > New Audio Track. You may need to make the vocal into stereo for a good mix.

Vocal Isolation from the original song is the hard work.

Koz,

Thanks for the response. I figured there must be a way...just couldn't figure out what it was. Thanks for the hyperlinks too. I'm just gonna have to work with it a bit more to get it right.

Thanks again!
