Adusting the Track Tempo

Post by csm2 » Thu May 28, 2009 6:23 pm

I seem to remember being able to change the overall tempo of a track in Audacity 1.2 but I can't seem to recall how to do this. I'm just talking about a subtle adjustment, nothing very radical and I only want to use it as a possible comparison/alternative to the current track tempo.

Any advice would be appreciated.

You can change the playback speed (temporarily) by adjusting the "Transcribe" slider. (See "Transcription Toolbar" in "Toolbars" section of the "View" menu.

To actually change the tempo, use "Change Tempo" from the Effects menu. (keeps the same pitch, but reduces sound quality).
"Change Speed" changes both tempo and pitch, but retains full sound quality.
