Zooming into start or end of selected area

Zooming into start or end of selected area.

Is there an option to do this? Often when I have an area selected, I want to focus on the very sample at the beginning or end of the selected area - but the current method of zooming doesn’t focus on these points. It becomes very tricky zooming to this exact point.

Obviously if I click an exact point the zoom goes to that sample, but then that is only if a duration of time isn’t selected. I’d like to zoom (to the sample) to either the beginning or end of a selected region.

If you have a wheel mouse:

  1. Hover your mouse pointer over the audio track just outside of the selection.
  2. “Ctrl + Mouse wheel”

Also, if you have the “Full” set of keyboard shortcuts enabled (See: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/keyboard_preferences.html), then you can use
“Ctrl + [” and “Ctrl + ]” to jump from one end of the selection to the other.
