Zooming in on 2.1.0; running 10.14.5 Mojave

Hi, new to this forum. Never made an account as had no issues with the software, until now.

I have only just updated Audacity to the latest one after the older one stopped working on my laptop. I also have updated my laptop, so it won’t be that it needs updating or anything like that.

I run MacBook Air OS Mojave, 10.14.5 (18F132). The Audacity is the latest as I’ve literally just downloaded it from the https://www.audacityteam.org/download/ site and it’s 2.1.0.

Now, my question is this: has the feature to zoom in been removed? Sure, you can do it by clicking onto the magnifying glass, but has the feature to pinch and zoom on the trackpad/mousepad been removed? I don’t understand why this would have been removed as it is a very useful feature, now, to zoom in, I have to click about on the bar several times just to zoom in? 10+ times if you’re doing anything detailed! Otherwise, it’s awkwardly pressing “cmd” and 1… This seems like a step back for me if that’s the case. If it ain’t broke, and all. I’m hoping I’m doing something wrong, as this “new” change makes it frustrating to use!

I just want to know if this can be enabled, or if I will now have to get used not being able to use this perfectly fine feature. Cheers.

The current version is 2.3.2.
“Audacity 2.1.1-screen-reader .dmg” is the recommended version for visually impaired / blind users on macOS.

You can check your Audacity version by looking in “Audacity menu > About Audacity”.
Audacity 2.3.2 is available via this page: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac/

No, but if you’ve accidentally downloaded the “Audacity 2.1.1-screen-reader” version, that may explain the problem.
