Linux: Ubuntu 20.04.3

I have tried 2 versions of audacity, both of them cannot run correctly.

Audacity installed by apt: v2.3.3
At first it shows logo, open the main window, it seems okey…

However the window freezes when I click menu ’ Track → create new track → Single channel ’ (sorry my software doesn’t show English I don’t know the exact menu), then the terminal repeats printing log below:

I have to kill the progress.

2. I find there is a newer version packed with AppImage, but it still does not work.
The audacity just shows logo and then the main window doesn’t show itself.

What language does it show?

Does the AppImage run if you delete the hidden folder ~/.audacity-data and then try launching it?
(“~/” means your home directory)

Oh great! The solution works, I re-run the appimage with env ‘LANG=C’ and audacity shows after logo disappeared…
Although logs in terminal are almost the same as before.

Editing topics is disabled for new forum users. The reason for this is because of spammers making an innocent looking post, waiting for it to be approved, then coming along later, editing their post and replacing it with their spam.

Also, going back and editing a post can make it difficult or impossible to follow the flow of a conversation, so even when you can edit your posts, we much prefer corrections to be in a new post so that the flow of the discussion is not disrupted.

What should it have been?
