Work flow using Audacity 4 in home recording

Im an acoustic singer song writer working from home used Audacity for its entire life and pleased to be given the chance to review Audacity 4.

My work flow goes like this i have two three channel SP04 digital mixers left and right putting out two stereo outputs into a Roland Boss BR800 with input set 4 track simultanious recording which are fed by the two mixers stereo out to tracks 1&2 and 3&4 .

The Br800 connected by USB goes to my Asus notebook which is connected to 62” Smart Tv on wall .

I use the master effects on the Br800 but record through Audacity now Audacity 4 onto stereo channel through a mic’ed setup normally AKG condenser 2000c and Shure SM58 on a level then high up also Zoom H2n.

I feed my Roland Rythm Partner in to the mixer and have tried various plugged in arrangements.

Audacity recognises and flawlessly handles what seems to me all the technical Stuff ,I do get the sense im visually using a daw but have the familiarity to navigate even new concepts and arrangement of the new Audacity 4 console.

For what I do Audacity has always been suffice but ive constantly tried Daw’s because everybody bangs on about them Audacity is as much of a Daw as I can handle and it does it exceptionaly well I use the Muse master effects very much to Polish my Recordings what I actualy feel that Audacity 4 has done for me its taken all that I need from a fully fledged Daw and streamlined it for use almost plug and play .

Handles flawlessly my setup thanks

You are aware that Audacity 4 is not even “beta” software, probably “alpha” or at most “pre-beta”. I wouldn’t use it for production of anything.

Alpha yes im aware

In my expriance when all boils down to it only the people I have looked into ends up dont play any instrument at all and are looking for completely different things I am looking for .

A live performace in flow actualy doesn’t require production it requires an ability to capture the moment with as little distraction as possible so as not to break the flow performance regular DAW’s are way too distracting for me Audacity does it very well
