Greetings,

Can somebody answer as to whether or not Audacity 2.0.6 is compatible with Windows 8.1 (not just Windows 8)?

Audacity is compatible with all Windows systems.

Well not with very old ones. Yes Audacity 2.1.0 is compatible with Windows 8.1. 2.1.0 requires a minimum of XP Service Pack 3 and the CPU must support SSE2 instructions (which it will if it was built in the last 12 years).
