Windows 7 Sound returning to computer [SOLVED]

I have audacity 2.1.1 with a new Vicotia III Tunewriter turntable.

Before I do anything all sound on my computer works (Youtube, playback, movies, etc.) I then plug in my turntable to a USB in the back of the computer and do all my projects importing records to the computer, then opening the files in AVS Audio Editor. I complete all projects with perfect sound but once I have completed my projects, I return to Youtube, or any place that will play sound (other than audacity/AVS) and I will receive no sound. This holds true until I unplug the USB from the computer.

I want to be able to keep the USB in the computer with out having to keep messing with the USB connection. I would like to set it and forget it.

Troubleshooting steps attempted:

  1. reboot computer with USB in no luck.
  2. closed Audacity and AVS both program and in Task manager.
  3. attempted to look at sound settings but nothing to indicate where it is allowing sound to pull from
  4. nothing in device manager.

    My specs.
    Windows 7
    Audacity 2.1.1
    AVS Audio Editor 7.1
    Vicotia III Tunewriter
